Usher’s ‘Climax’ Tops R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart

Usher scores his 12th No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs tally, as “Climax” rises 2-1 with 31 million audience impressions in its ninth week.

“Climax” extends Usher’s lead for the most No. 1s on the chart during the Nielsen Music era (since December 1992). The Diplo-produced cut also marks his No. 1 on RCA, following his two-decade affiliation with LaFace which dissolved into RCA last year.  “Climax’s” ascension to the throne ends the seven-week reign of Beyoncé’s “Love On Top” as it falls1-3.

Rihanna’s musical reunion with Chris Brown, “Birthday Cake,” holds at No. 2; while Drake’s former No. 1 “The Motto” featuring Lil Wayne, remains at No. 4, and LoveRance’s “UP!” bullets again at No. 5.

Kirko Bangz’ “Drank in My Cup” moves 7-6; Chris Brown’s “Strip” slides to No.7, and “Another Round,” which he assists Fat Joe, stays at No.8 with a 15% gain.  Travis Porter earn their first top 10 with the Tyga-assisted “Ayy Ladies,” which scores the Greatest Gainer/Airplay tag with a 12-9 boost (19 million, up 20%).

Rounding out the top 10, Young Jeezy lands his eighth top 10, as “Leave You Alone” featuring Ne-Yo, rises 11-10 with a 16% airplay increase.
