Usher’s ‘Confessions’ (Officially) Hits 10 Million in U.S. Sales


As his latest album, Looking 4 Myself, rests at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 this week, his 2004 juggernaut Confessions LP reaches a milestone achievement, surpassing 10 million copies sold in the U.S. according to Nielsen Soundscan.

J. Cole featuring Missy Elliott – “Nobody’s Perfect” (Official Music Video)


Missy Elliott makes her triumphant return in J. Cole’s music video for “Nobody’s Perfect,” their collaboration from his album, Cole World: The Sideline Story.  The North Carolina native gets reflective in his bedroom, rapping the lyrics to the track, while a dolled-up Missy plays his neighbor and offers some advice in the Collin Tilley-directed clip.  “Nobody’s Perfect” is the third single from Cole’s gold-certified debut disc. Rihanna’s ‘Talk That Talk’ Certified Gold


Rihanna isn’t the best singer, dancer or live performer, but the 23-year-old knows how to push a product.  Even without blockbuster opening week numbers, her latest album Talk That Talk has been certified gold by the RIAA for shipping 500,000 copies.

Released in November, the album has spawned the worldwide No. 1 single “We Found Love” featuring Calvin Harris, which spends its ninth week atop Billboard’s Hot 100 this week, and the Ester Dean-penned “You Da One.” The album has sold 370,000 copies in the U.S.

Lil Wayne’s ‘I Am Still Music’ Tour Grosses $47 Million


Even wearing zebra-print jeggings, Lil Wayne continues to rake in the dough. His 78-date I Am Music Tour grossed $47 million with major ticket sales in Chicago, Buffalo, Philadelphia and Dallas.

Tha Carter IV, his ninth album, was recently certified double platinum by the RIAA just three months after its release, becoming the highest selling hip-hip album of the year.

Say what you want about Wayne, there’s no denying he is a cash cow.

Beyoncé’s ‘4’ Certified Platinum


Beyoncé can add another platinum album to her list of accomplishments.  A month after its release, the singer’s fourth studio album, 4, has been certified platinum for shipping one million units.

BET To Air Tribute Special Honoring 10th Anniversary Of Aaliyah’s Death


To mark the 10-year anniversary of Aaliyah’s death, BET will air a special tribute honoring the R&B superstar. The singer, along with eight others, was killed in a plane crash shortly after takeoff in The Bahamas in 2001.

The special will feature celebrities and music industry insiders who will share their memories of the fallen star.

Adele’s “21” Goes Double Platinum


Adele received multiple plaques for her albums 21 and 19 at a recent sold out show at New York City’s  Beacon Theatre. The two-time Grammy winner’s sophomore album 21 has been certified double platinum by the R.I.A.A. for sales in excess of 2 million units, while her debut album 19 has been certified platinum for sales in excess of 1 million units.

21’s lead single, “Rolling in the Deep,” which is the #1 single in America for a second consecutive week, also received a plaque signifying double platinum sales.

21 continues to dominate the charts, the album is on tap for its ninth non-consecutive week at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart. Since it’s release, 21 has sold over 7 million units worldwide.
