Brandy Feat. Chris Brown – ‘Put It Down’ [Music Video Teaser]


Welcome to the 90s…again! Brandy works her signature braids and Chris Brown rocks a jumper (overalls) in a newly-released teaser for the Hype Williams-directed video for “Put It Down,” the first single from Brandy’s upcoming sixth album Two Eleven, due October 2.

Despite the initial non-existent  promo for the single, “Put It Down” slowly gaining steam on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. After nine weeks on the chart, the Bangledesh-produced cut reached a new peak of No. 30 last week, becoming her 16th top 30 single.

The full video is expected to premiere later this month.

Album Art: Pink – ‘ The Truth About Love’

 P!nk unveiled the cover art for her upcoming fifth album, The Truth About Love, today (July 16).

Set for release on September 18 via RCA Records, Truth is preceded by the single “Blow Me (One Last Kiss),” which thus far has peaked at No. 58 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

The Truth About Love is her first full-length release since 2008′s Funhouse, which earned three Grammy nominations and spawned seven singles including her first solo No. 1 “So What.”

Usher Addresses ‘Pop’ Criticism, Refutes ‘R&B Is Dead’

Since the electronic, dance wave made its splash in the U.S., many R&B stars have taken the plunge.  While some only tip-toed around music’s latest trend, others have gone waist-deep. Amid all the cries of “R&B is dead” and yells of “You’ve gone pop,” one artist has been at the forefront of most of the criticism (well, two if you include Nicki Minaj but that’s another story for another time) — Usher.  The man, who gave us hits like “Nice and Slow,” the crunk-infused “Yeah!” and “Lil’ Freak,” was bit by the electrodance bug on his last album. “OMG” and the Pitbull-assisted “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” helped move Raymond v. Raymond to platinum status. While his pop audience cheered, his R&B core walked away.

On his latest project, Looking 4 Myself, the 33-year-old dove further into a grey area of what R&B music is.  In a new interview with AOL’s The Boombox, the father of two addresses the criticism he’s received for “going pop” and also refutes the claims that R&B is dead.
