The album is preceded by “Heart Attack,” the lead single, which cracked the top five on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart this week. “2 Reasons” featuring T.I., the second single, is expected to premiere in the coming days. Lil Wayne, Big Sean, J. Cole, and Kelly Rowland are among the artists featured on Chapter 5.

With “Heart Attack” at radio, Trey Songz is prepping the release of his fifth studio album, Chapter V. Last week, the R&B crooner invited Complex Magazine to a special listening session for the new set.
White roses and candles made the room feel more like a place for bedroom exploits than a listening session. The man who invented sex was in his element.
“I’m excited as hell to hear them loud,” Trey said before queuing up the six songs that he’s almost positive will make the final cut of the album, which is tentatively set to drop in August.
After some extensive touring in Europe, South Africa, and Australia last year and seeing the impact his music had on his fans, the singer gained a new appreciation for where he is in his career right now. “I realized I’m here for a reason,” Trey said. “It’s an amazing experience to be who I am right now.”
That’s a believable sentiment. Now let’s get to the music.

What Trey Songz lacks in vocal ability, he makes up for by modeling cool clothes in the March issue of GQ. The R&B heartthrob donned some of the hottest fashions for the upcoming Spring season. Trey is currently wrapping up his “Anticipation 2our” with Big Sean, before heading back to the studio to complete his fifth studio album Chapter 5, expected later in the year. Sex sells. Don’t believe it? Check Trey Songz’s track record. The crooner recalls a night of passion with a Latina vixen in the ad for Rocawear’s latest fragrance.
Since Chris Brown’s return to prominence, Trey Songz has kept a low profile. But, that is about to change because the “Invented Sex” singer is prepping the release of his fifth studio album.
In a recent interview, Tremaine revealed the title to his coming album is “Chapter 5.” Due later this year, the set is the follow-up to 2010’s Passion, Pleasure & Pain, which has sold just under 800, 000 copies in the U.S., becoming his second gold-certified album.
Much like Def Jam with Rihanna, Atlantic Records is making sure Tremaine doesn’t lose his buzz by releasing albums back-to-back. Hopefully, the 26-year-old shows some artistic growth and challenges himself creatively with his new project. I don’t think I’m alone when I say, the number-themed album titles have to stop.
Some unreleased music from Tremaine has surfaced. “Daddy Want You” sounds like something leftover from his Passion, Pain & Pleasure LP.
