Preview: Rihanna on ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’


 

On the next edition of Oprah’s Next Chapter, Oprah travels to Barbados to go one-on-one with Rihanna.  After winning five GRAMMYs and scoring eleven No. 1 singles, the “Birthday Cake” singer returns home to discuss her journey to becoming one of pop’s biggest stars.

RiRi previously appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2010 during Harpo’s special on the Haiti earthquake relief effort, where she covered Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song.”

Watch: Oprah Interviews Whitney Houston’s Family (Video)


The family of Whitney Houston, including her 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina, spoke out for the first time since her untimely death one month ago. In an emotional interview, Oprah traveled to the home of Patricia Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law and manager, in Atlanta for the 90-minute special that aired last night on OWN.

“She’s always with me,” said Kristina, who is Whitney’s only child with Bobby Brown.  “Her spirit is strong, it’s a strong spirit. I feel her pass through me all the time.” She went on to say that while she has come to terms with the loss, she’s still has her moments.  “Sometimes, it’s so surreal. I still walk into the house like, ‘Mom?’ But I’ve accepted it.”

Oprah’s Last Show Draws Largest Audience in 18 Years


The Oprah Winfrey Show went out on a high note last month. The final episode of the famed talk show drew 16.4 million viewers, making it the most-watched show in more than 18 years, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

That makes it her most-watched show in more than 18 years. A February 1993 episode called “Why I Love Older Women” was watched by 17.3 million viewers.

Big O is taking a vacation before she dives full-time into work on her OWN Network. Her follow-up show, Oprah’s Next Chapter, will air in 2012.
