After years of underground success, Twista broke into the mainstream with 2004’s Kamikaze. For the album’s lead single, Twista enlisted Jamie Foxx and Kanye West for an ode to classic soul artists on the aptly titled “Slow Jamz.” Produced by Kanye West, “Slow Jamz” topped Billboard’s Hot 100 for one week on February 10, 2004, becoming the first number one single for all three artists.
Did You Know? “Slow Jamz” was for a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2005.
Jamie Foxx kicked off his promo tour for his latest album this morning on ABC’s Good Morning America. The Oscar winner performed “Fall For Your Type” and “Yep That’s Me” from his new album Best Night of My Life for the Fall Concert Series.
Jamie also shared that he will reprise his role of Wanda from In Living Color alongside Martin Lawrence in an upcoming film. “They’re gonna rob banks from Northern California to Southern California and the person that’s chasing us is George Lopez,” he said. Filming will begin early next year.
Best Night of My Life hits stores tomorrow.
