Ne-Yo stopped by Power’s 105.1’s popular morning show The Breakfast Club on Tuesday morning (August 7). The singer-songwriter talked with Charlamagne, DJ Envy and Angela Yee about his new album R.E.D., why he turned down a role as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., what he thinks Trey Songz is lacking, why he gave Beyoncé writing credit on “Irreplaceable” and more.
Ne-Yo jumps back on the dance-pop train with “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself),” the second single from his forthcoming fifth album R.E.D.
The uptempo ballad isn’t nearly as enjoyable as “Closer,” but considering the chart failure of “Lazy Love,” I guess he had no choice but to go this route in hopes of once again finding an audience. And to think, he buffed up, became ’bout that shirtless life, shot a soft porn music video and people still didn’t care. :/
R.E.D. arrives September 18, listen to “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself) below.
When did Ne-Yo become ’bout that shirtless life? Anywho, Motown Record’s VP of A&R gets explicit with his sexy co-star in the video for “Lazy Love,” the lead single from his upcoming album, R.E.D., due September 18.
Ne-Yo returns with the slow burner “Lazy Love.” Lifted as the lead single from his upcoming fifth album R.E.D., the drum-driven cut finds the famed singer-songwriter succumbing to his addiction. With its booming drums and haunting bass line, “Lazy Love” is a great reintroduction to Shaffer Smith. R.E.D., the follow-up to 2010’s Libra Scale, arrives September 18 via Motown.
