Chris Brown Returns to Theaters in ‘Battle of the Year’ with Laz Alonzo & Josh Holloway [Trailer]


Following his roles in Stomp the Yard, Takers and Think Like a Man, Chris Brown will return to the big screen early next year in Battle of the Year.

The 3-D film, based on the award-winning documentary Planet B-Boy, follows an American dance crew who, with the help of their tough coach (Josh Holloway), struggle to reach their dreams despite being misunderstood by society and even their own families. Their push for success leads them to France, where they compete in the “Battle of the Year” finals against crews from 18 nations vying for the title of World Champion.

Directed by Benson Lee, the film also stars Laz Alonso, Josh Peck and Caity Lotz. Battle of the Year opens in 3-D on January 25, 2013.

Beyoncé, Adele, Chris Brown Score NAACP Image Award Nominations



The nominees for the 43rd annual NAACP Image Awards have been announced. Leading the pack with eight nods, The Help is up for Best Picture, writing, and directing, as well as dominating the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress.  The Game and Grey’s Anatomy tie for second place with six nominations each.  On the music front, Beyoncé  and Jill Scott earn four nominations; while Adele scores two nominations for Outstanding Music Video and Outstanding Song for “Someone Like You” from her record-tying album 21.

The NAACP Image Awards will air on Friday, February 17, at 8 p.m., on NBC.  See select nominations below.

With his image restored (for the most part), Chris Brown is headed back to the big screen. The “Look At Me Now” singer-rapper has joined the ensemble cast of  Planet B Boy, a music-themed drama.

And The Nominees Are: 2011 BET Awards Nominations


The nominees for the 2011 BET Awards were announced live on BET’s 106 & Park last night. With six nominations, Chris Brown leads the pack – the singer picked up nods for Video of the Year and Best Male R&B Artist. His collaborator Lil Wayne follows with five nominations, while his former beau RihannaDrake, and Kanye West score four apiece.

The 2011 BET Awards will air live from Los Angeles on June 26 hosted by comedian Kevin Hart. Check below for a full list of nominees.
