Beyoncé gets back to work, gives inside look at ‘Revel’ shows

This show looks AMAZING!!!! (Oprah’s voice)

Beyoncé treats fans with an inside look at her comeback shows at Atlantic City’s Revel Resorts.  In the footage, the pop star preps lighting cues, rehearses musical and vocal arrangements, modifies the stage design, and practices choreography for the sold out series of concerts.

“It is exciting. I feel a little nervous. I’m enjoying being a mother so it’s like going back to my old job.  It’s a little strange, but it’s important that you don’t lose yourself and still have your own passions. I’m back to business,” the 16-time Grammy Award winner said.

Bey’s four-night stint at Revel begins tomorrow and runs through Memorial Day.

Hot Shots: A Very Pregnant Beyoncé Spotted in Manhattan

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know Beyoncé and Jay-Z are expecting their first child.  Rumors of Beyoncé giving birth have run rampant throughout the week — even Good Morning America reported the alleged birth of the baby, whose name was reportedly Tiana May. The “Love On Top” singer put an end to the rumors when she was photographed leaving an office building with her mother Tina Knowles in Manhattan on Thursday night (January 5).

With the mythical baby bump covered by a blazer and scarf, Beyonce graciously allowed the paparazzi to get a shot of her. When her security tried to step in, she  told them, “Leave them alone, it’s fine.”

This time, the clips show the mom-to-be doing what she does best – entertain. The four-night stint at NYC’s Roseland Ballroom, where B performed her latest album 4 in its entirety, sold out in 22 seconds in August.  Watch part 4 below.

Chart News: Beyoncé’s ‘4’ Tops Charts

“How you gon’ upgrade me? What’s higher than number 1?” – Hov

After all the smoke has cleared, Beyoncé’s 4 lands at #1 this week. Appropriately enough, 4 is Beyoncé’s fourth consecutive album to start in the top spot. Reaching the summit for a fourth time did not come without its share of woes, the set, Bey’s first to debut without a top 20 single, posts the lowest opening numbers of her career – 313,420, according to Hits Daily Double.

Dangerously In Love, her 2003 solo debut, opened with 317,000; her sophomore opus, B’Day exploded on the charts with 541,000 in its opening week in 2006. 2008′s double-disc I Am…Sasha Fierce lifted off with 482,000 units sold in the first week.

4 also found success across the pond. The album topped the U.K. sales charts, moving 89,000 units to become her second #1 album in the territory, as “Best Thing I Never Had” debuted at No. 3 in the singles list, one of six tracks for her in the top 75.

Beyoncé previously topped the U.K. album chart with her solo debut “Dangerously In Love” in 2003, but fell short with “B’Day” (No. 3 in 2006), and “I Am…Sasha Fierce” (No. 2 in 2009). The latter title moved back into the top 40 yesterday for the first time since May, 2010, climbing 127-38. “Love” improved 121-45 and “B’Day” reappeared outside the widely-published top 75 at No. 94. On the singles top 75, “Run The World (Girls)” climbed 39-23, “Irreplaceable” re-entered at No. 33, “Halo” at No. 60 and “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” at No. 72. “End of Time” debuted at No. 62. – Billboard

4 replaces Jill Scott’s The Light Of The Sun at #1. This marks the first time that African American women have had back-to-back #1 albums since the summer of 2003, when Monica’s After The StormBeyonce’s Dangerously In Love and Ashanti’s Chapter II were successive #1 albums.
