X Factor’s Rachel Crow Lands Nickelodeon & Columbia Records Deal

The X Factor fan favorite Rachel Crow might have lost the battle, but it looks like she’ll win the war.

The 14-year-old singer has landed a Nickelodeon TV deal and Columbia Records contract, according to reports. Crow scored a talent deal with Nickelodeon that includes a recurring role on comedy series, Fred: The Show, and her own musical comedy series pilot. In addition, she has been signed by Columbia Records in partnership with her X Factor coach Simon Cowell‘s company, Syco.

Ameriie Talks New Sound & New Album

In 2005 when Ameriie released her sophomore album Touch, it appeared she was on the verge of becoming R&B’s next superstar.  Led by smash single “1 Thing,” the album earned Ameriie two Grammy nominations, her first #1 Billboard single and became her second gold-certified disc, then it all changed. Her last album, In Love & War, debuted and peaked at #46 on Billboard Top 200 and failed to spark interest.  The “1 Thing” singer, who recently wed her manager, Lenny Nicholson, is prepping the release of her new album and shares details of the making Cymatika Vol 1 with Billboard.

Watch: ‘Beyoncé: Year of 4’ TV Special

Beyoncé gave fans an inside look at the making of her new album on Beyoncé: Year of 4. The half-hour documentary premiered on MTV earlier tonight and showed fans a different side of the singer. Whether it was practicing choreography, shooting the video for “Run the World (Girls),” or hanging in the studio with Jay-Z, nothing seemed off limits for the normally private Beyoncé. Columbia Executives Worry Beyoncé’s “4” Could Flop


Columbia Records executives are bracing themselves for the potential of Beyoncé‘s new album, “4,” being a dud after she refused to return to the studio to re-record new tracks, according to the New York Post.

“They’re very nervous about Beyoncé’s new record,” an industry insider told us. “It doesn’t have the hit songs that her fans are used to. They asked her to make changes, but she said no.”

Apparently, Columbia execs have had “quiet discussions” about the reunion of Destiny’s Child in the event 4 is a commercial disappointment. “Beyoncé’s career has stalled a bit,” a source told us. “Columbia seems to think they can get some mileage out of a comeback record with all of the girls.” Another source tells us Destiny’s Child could start recording together as early as October, with a suggested album title “Family Reunion.”
