On the next edition of Oprah’s Next Chapter, Oprah travels to Barbados to go one-on-one with Rihanna. After winning five GRAMMYs and scoring eleven No. 1 singles, the “Birthday Cake” singer returns home to discuss her journey to becoming one of pop’s biggest stars.
RiRi previously appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2010 during Harpo’s special on the Haiti earthquake relief effort, where she covered Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song.”
The interview airs on August 19 at 9 p.m. on OWN. Watch the trailer below.
After going through a Euro-pop/dance phase on his last album, Nelly comes back to earth on the twerk-worthy “Marry Go Round” featuring Chris Brown, the first single from his upcoming seventh album M.O.
The St. Louis rapper delivers his signature flow on the verses, while Chris Brown gets melodic on the hook of the infectious cut, produced by Da Internz (Rihanna “Birthday Cake”). Ride the wave below.
Rihanna took her brand of entertainment to the Big Apple over the weekend to perform on Saturday Night Live. The pop superstar rocked the stage with a medley of “Birthday Cake” and “Talk That Talk” then returned to perform her latest single, “Where Have You Been.” The latter performance saved her set from being a dud. As always with Robyn, her live vocals are um…yeah, but she has improved on having stage presence. Baby steps, folks. Who cares if she’s been around since 2005, Rome wasn’t built in a day. “Where Have You Been” has potential to be another massive single for the Bajan beauty, who has already scored 11 No. 1 singles on the Hot 100.

If the headline makes you uncomfortable, imagine my initial reaction after watching the video. Brian McKnight’s career was temporarily taken off life support after he posted a video on YouTube.
Aside from “We Found Love’s” 10-week stint atop the Hot 100, Rihanna’s Talk That Talk has yet to produce a string of hits like its predecessors. However, the tide could be about to change with the release of “Where Have You Been,” as the fifth single from the singer’s sixth studio album.
The dance-pop track, co-produced by Dr. Luke and Calvin Harris, follows the same formula as “We Found Love” with its simple lyrics and slow building beat. In the nutshell, it sounds like a mash-up of anything by LMFAO and the rest of the Hot 100’s top 10.
Rihanna has already shot a music video for the track, which impacts radio May 8. Talk That Talk has sold 794,760 copies in the U.S.

Chris Brown pleads his case on “How I Feel,” a new track just released online. Painting a vivid picture, Chris lays all his cards on the table with the introspective cut that touches on his childhood, family issues and the incident with Rihanna. Listen below.
Rihanna exudes sex appeal in her steamy commercial for Armani. Stripped down her skivvies, Rihanna tosses in bed before dressing into a pair of form-fitting jeans by the high-end designer and heading to the airport. The black-and-white campaign was shot by famed photographer Steven Klein. What she lacks in vocal ability, the “Birthday Cake” singer makes up for in pure sexiness. Gon’ Robyn! Watch the commercial below.
Over the weekend, Rihanna stopped by the UK’s The Jonathan Ross Show to talk about her upcoming role in the action flick Battleship and competition among her peers. “It will always be a competition and that’s why I feel like women are becoming so dominant in music right now because we’re very competitive beings and we cannot stand to see another woman do better than us,” she said. “That bothers us a lot. As much as you guys have egos, our egos are a little bigger. We’re just a lot better at hiding them.” Later in the show, the “Birthday Cake” singer took the stage to perform the title track from her sixth studio album. Watch the interview and performance below.
