Chris Brown’s ‘Fortune’ Lands at No. 1 on Billboard 200
Chris Brown earns his second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, as Fortune claims the top spot, selling 134,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album follow his last release, and first No.1, F.A.M.E., which launched with 270, 000 in 2011.
Billboard notes that Brown is the second R&B star to score a No. 1 debut with comparably soft numbers within the last month. Four weeks ago, Usher’s latest, Looking 4 Myself, bowed atop the Billboard 200 with 128,000 — a significant slide from the 329,000 start for Raymond v. Raymond in 2010.

Chart News: R. Kelly Set for 14th Top 10 on Billboard 200
R. Kelly is set to score his 14th top 10 album on the Billboard 200 with his eleventh album, Write Me Back.
The album may sell around 65,000 copies by the end of the tracking week, which ends today (July 1), according to Billboard. The 70s-flavored disc is the follow-up to 2010’s Grammy nominated Love Letter.
Write Me Back’s top 10 start is good news for R&B’s reigning king, who fell ill earlier this week. While en route to New York City for a string of TV appearances, the three-time Grammy Award winner was forced to cancel his promo run for the project after “suffering from complications” from the throat surgery he under went last summer.
“Initial indications are that he is suffering from complications from surgery he had last year to treat an abscess on his vocal cords,” according to a statement released on Thursday. “It is unclear how long Kelly may be sidelined.”
The launch party and signing for his memoir “Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me,” released on June 28, was also cancelled.
