Rihanna’sOnly Girl (In The World)” won a Grammy for ‘Best Dance Recording‘ during the award’s pre-show. The track was written by Crystal Johnson, Mikkel S. Eriksen, Tor Erik Hermansen, Sandy Wilhelm, and vocally produced by Kuk Harrell. Congrats to Rihanna and company!

Chris Brown Rocks ‘Saturday Night Live’

The storm cloud has officially been lifted from Chris Brown’s head as he took the stage as the musical guest on NBC’s  Saturday Night Live. The 21 year-old singer slowed things down “No Bullsh*t,” from his In My Zone mixtape, before cranking things up with the lead single from his upcoming fourth studio album F.A.M.E., “Yeah 3X“.  F.A.M.E. hits stores March 22nd. Brown is nominated for two Grammy’s tonight for “Take My Time” featuring Tank, from Graffiti, and his #1 single with Tyga and Kevin McCall, “Deuces” for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

And The Nominees Are: 2011 Grammy Nominations


The nominees for the 53rd annual Grammy’s were announced live on CBS’ nomination special, “The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music Biggest Night” last night. Eminem leads nominees with 10, followed by Bruno Mars with 7,  and Jay-Z and Lady Gaga with 6.

Eminem Expected To Lead 2011 Grammy Nominations

Nominations for the 2011 Grammy Awards won’t be announced until December 1, but with the  eligibility deadline closed, early favorites are already emerging.

According to a survey of record executives and industry observers conducted by Billboard, the 53rd annual Grammy Awards will  be  the “strongest and most competitive collection of record and song of the year nominees in recent memory.” This year’s awards will mirror the shift in the industry with the focus being less on albums and more on singles, which have become a commodity in recent years with the rise of digital single sales.

Music experts project Eminem will lead artists in nominations. Receiving nods in general categories such as ‘Album of the Year,’ ‘Record of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year‘ as well as receiving nominations in the Hip-Hop fields.
