Beyoncé’s ‘Love on Top’ Hits No. 1

It took a minute, but Beyoncé finally scores a number one single from her underrated album, 4.  In its 26th week, “Love on Top” dethrones Drake’sThe Motto” to take the lead on Billboard’s Top Hip-Hop/R&B Songs chart.

Ascending 2-1, ‘Top‘ earns Greatest Gainer/Airplay honors for a second consecutive week to become Bey’s fifth No. 1 single on the chart.  She previously led with “Crazy in Love” featuring Jay-Z, “Baby Boy” featuring Sean Paul, “Déjà Vu” featuring Jay-Z, “Irreplaceable,” and “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” in 2008.  “Love on Top” is also the third top ten single from 4, following “Best Thing I Never Had” and “Party” featuring André 3000 or J. Cole.

Co-written by Knowles, The-Dream and Shea Taylor, “Love on Top” is the fourth single from her latest album, 4, which has sold 1,144,884 copies in the States.
